The Cons of Agricultural Biotechnology
Harmful Effects to the Earth may occur
It is possible that insect pests, diseases and herbicides may spread to common plants. This could lead to herbicide resistant weeds and unattainable spread of the plant species. This might even lead to the damage of ecosystems.
Over-use of Herbicides
When farmers plant herbicide-resistant crops, this might encourage them to use weed killers more often. Then they may end up over doing it. As a result, the leftovers from the weed killers can pollute the water and kill many plants and animals.
Benefits may not be available to everyone
The people that have the right to GM foods may be a little reluctant into giving technology or anything that their doing that involves genetics. This makes other countries even more dependent on their resources.
